Introduction
By catching a bus from Manali to Kaza in the morning, you will be in Spiti valley by evening. And if you do this bus journey it is going to be your most scenic bus journey ever. You can experience seeing high brown mountains with steep slopes. The bus will drop you at Kaza which is the headquarter of Spiti valley and which is around 12470 feet. Kaza is also known as the biggest town there. Bhoti language is spoken in Spiti valley which is a type of Tibetan language. And also people here don’t greet by namastey of hello, they say Julley! To know a little more about Spiti valley you must visit the largest monastery there that is the Key Monastery which is 13668 feet. In a populated country like India there are hardly any places where few people live. And from them it is one of the few remotest places which is called Spiti valley. Spiti valley is a cold desert valley which has ten times more area than Delhi and the population is even less than 0.1 percent of Delhi’s population.

The best side scene to visit in Spiti ValleyMost of the monasteries are located in remote areas away from crowded areas or away from villages and especially cities. The monks who study in the monastery and practice meditation have an idea about which atmosphere will be best for them. So, according to that they choose such remote locations which are away from crowded and noisy areas. If you practise in that place then you can calmly meditate without any disturbance and your meditation will be successful. Key monastery is located at an altitude of around 13000 feet and it is really a town in itself. It has schools, temple halls, prayer halls, hostels, large kitchens, restaurants, playgrounds and a lot more. From children to olds, you will get monks of every age in the monastery. And the best way to experience the monastery is to join the lunch prayer. At 12 o’clock in the day all monks gather in the prayer hall for lunch and if you also sit here then you too will be served butter tea which is really very tasty.
And before having lunch they do prayer and chanting. After lunch all the monk kids wash their plates and bowls by themselves and some of these kids are only 5 years old. Lunch is made in this kitchen in these big pots where kilos of lentils and rice are cooked for just one meal. The cookers are so heavy that one man alone cannot lift them. The food is then served from the kitchen to the prayer hall in the big buckets. They make sattu and it is made from barley locally known as jau after roasting and grinding the barley in the machine and sattu is a superfood. You just need to take admission to join the monastery and the rest of the things like from food to clothing to room and to pocket money everything is taken care of by the monastery. From every family the second boy child comes here to become a monk, the second of two boys. And on the other side adult monks practise meditation that also in specially designed caves for meditation. You can see separate caves there. If someone wants to do meditation separately he can use them.
Conclusion
Komic is another village in Spiti valley which is 15000 feet. Hardly 60 people live here and it is best for ample farming. Barley and pea are grown here. Apart from these farms the second interesting thing is these mud houses which keep them warm even in the -30 degree celsius cold. Snow leopards come here during summer too. Komic village is the highest village in Spiti valley, also the world’s highest village.
